Narrative:

Flying the IFR departure off runway 13 calls for a heading of 040 degrees at lga 2.5 DME. We actually made the turn at about 4.0 DME due to our attention being diverted by a TCASII TA. Also, when the first officer did turn he did not use maximum bank angle. ATC said tighten your turn or you'll fly right out of my airspace. We complied, using maximum bank and a slower IAS. No further ATC comment. TCASII is telling us things we need to know but definitely divides attention from other important duties.
