Narrative:

We were cleared to start engines and started #1 and #3. I cleared the ground man to disconnect. We then received a salute and guidance and called for 'a' pumps and received taxi clearance. There was a wing walker. The guideman gave us a straight ahead signal, I released brakes, and increased thrust. After moving forward a short distance we received and complied with a right turn signal that gradually increased in sharpness. During this turn we experienced a shudder. I stopped the airplane and at the same time the guideman gave us a stop signal. He then ran towards the left wing tip, then came back and plugged in and advised us that we had contacted the jetway with our left wing tip. We then asked for clearance to return to the gate and did so, we complied with all SOP's, guidance signals, and instructions.
