Narrative:

From pbi to mia we received an RA on our TCASII, and were instructed to climb. This led to an altitude excursion of about +600 ft. After the RA we were visual with the traffic and also notified ATC. ATC was aware of the traffic and said it was no factor because it was 1000 ft below. After reviewing the conflict, I believe the RA given to us by TCASII was inappropriate.

Title: COMMUTER LTT ALTDEV EXCURSION FROM CLRNC ALT IN RESPONSE TO TCASII IN RA.

Narrative: FROM PBI TO MIA WE RECEIVED AN RA ON OUR TCASII, AND WERE INSTRUCTED TO CLB. THIS LED TO AN ALT EXCURSION OF ABOUT +600 FT. AFTER THE RA WE WERE VISUAL WITH THE TFC AND ALSO NOTIFIED ATC. ATC WAS AWARE OF THE TFC AND SAID IT WAS NO FACTOR BECAUSE IT WAS 1000 FT BELOW. AFTER REVIEWING THE CONFLICT, I BELIEVE THE RA GIVEN TO US BY TCASII WAS INAPPROPRIATE.
