Narrative:

Aircraft was cleared to taxi to runway 2R via taxiway left and H. The left taxiway jogs left slightly at newly constructed L7. L7 continues straight ahead to the newly constructed extension of 13/31. The newly constructed taxiways are not depicted on the chart 10-9. We followed the taxiway straight ahead onto L7. We did recognize the error, but rather than make a hard left back onto taxiway left we asked bna ground to clear us onto L7 and runway 31. Bna ground stated this was a common mistake since the construction. Better taxiway marking, a revision to the chart and NOTAMS would help avoid this mistake.

WE DID RECOGNIZE THE ERROR, BUT RATHER THAN MAKE A HARD L BACK ONTO TAXIWAY L WE ASKED BNA GND TO CLR US ONTO L7 AND RWY 31. BNA GND STATED THIS WAS A COMMON MISTAKE SINCE THE CONSTRUCTION. BETTER TAXIWAY MARKING, A REVISION TO THE CHART AND NOTAMS WOULD HELP AVOID THIS MISTAKE.
