Narrative:

I was inbound to see from the north. I reported to the tower before entering the air traffic area at san vicente (the north reporting fix for a base entry to runway 27R). I also reported I had the ATIS (X). The tower acknowledged my call and requested I report in again over lakeside golf course. 1 aircraft (small aircraft Y) reported san vicente ahead of me and 3 more aircraft reported san vicente after me. The tower had just changed controllers prior to my call. I also did not have a visibility on the small aircraft Y ahead of me. The tower was very busy at the time and had 2 frequencys in use at the time. Prior to my report of reaching lakeside, the tower changed controllers again. Upon reaching the lakeside fix I reported to the tower I was over lakeside and I did not have visibility contact with the small aircraft Y, who also reported lakeside. The controller responded to my call by telling me I was to contact the tower prior to entering the air traffic area. I responded by stating, 'I did report in at san vicente.' the tower acknowledged the call and requested I repeat lakeside, which I was now doing. The controller was very abrupt with me, stating he was not going to argue the situation with me. Shortly after this exchange, I was instructed to follow the small aircraft Y ahead and was #2 for landing on runway 27R. I observed the small aircraft Y ahead when he turned final. My main concern is the new controller did not know I was on base. When I stated I did not have a visibility on the small aircraft Y ahead, who reported lakeside at the same time I did, the controller proceeded to inform me about reporting before entering the air traffic area. The area was very busy at the time and my immediate concern was unseen traffic reported in the same airspace as I. I believe my presence and sequence on the base leg to runway 27R was overlooked when the tower changed controllers.

Title: RUDE COMMENTS MADE TO THE REPORTER BY THE ATCT LCL CTLR.

Narrative: I WAS INBND TO SEE FROM THE N. I RPTED TO THE TWR BEFORE ENTERING THE ATA AT SAN VICENTE (THE N RPTING FIX FOR A BASE ENTRY TO RWY 27R). I ALSO RPTED I HAD THE ATIS (X). THE TWR ACKNOWLEDGED MY CALL AND REQUESTED I RPT IN AGAIN OVER LAKESIDE GOLF COURSE. 1 ACFT (SMA Y) RPTED SAN VICENTE AHEAD OF ME AND 3 MORE ACFT RPTED SAN VICENTE AFTER ME. THE TWR HAD JUST CHANGED CTLRS PRIOR TO MY CALL. I ALSO DID NOT HAVE A VIS ON THE SMA Y AHEAD OF ME. THE TWR WAS VERY BUSY AT THE TIME AND HAD 2 FREQS IN USE AT THE TIME. PRIOR TO MY RPT OF REACHING LAKESIDE, THE TWR CHANGED CTLRS AGAIN. UPON REACHING THE LAKESIDE FIX I RPTED TO THE TWR I WAS OVER LAKESIDE AND I DID NOT HAVE VIS CONTACT WITH THE SMA Y, WHO ALSO RPTED LAKESIDE. THE CTLR RESPONDED TO MY CALL BY TELLING ME I WAS TO CONTACT THE TWR PRIOR TO ENTERING THE ATA. I RESPONDED BY STATING, 'I DID RPT IN AT SAN VICENTE.' THE TWR ACKNOWLEDGED THE CALL AND REQUESTED I REPEAT LAKESIDE, WHICH I WAS NOW DOING. THE CTLR WAS VERY ABRUPT WITH ME, STATING HE WAS NOT GOING TO ARGUE THE SITUATION WITH ME. SHORTLY AFTER THIS EXCHANGE, I WAS INSTRUCTED TO FOLLOW THE SMA Y AHEAD AND WAS #2 FOR LNDG ON RWY 27R. I OBSERVED THE SMA Y AHEAD WHEN HE TURNED FINAL. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THE NEW CTLR DID NOT KNOW I WAS ON BASE. WHEN I STATED I DID NOT HAVE A VIS ON THE SMA Y AHEAD, WHO RPTED LAKESIDE AT THE SAME TIME I DID, THE CTLR PROCEEDED TO INFORM ME ABOUT RPTING BEFORE ENTERING THE ATA. THE AREA WAS VERY BUSY AT THE TIME AND MY IMMEDIATE CONCERN WAS UNSEEN TFC RPTED IN THE SAME AIRSPACE AS I. I BELIEVE MY PRESENCE AND SEQUENCE ON THE BASE LEG TO RWY 27R WAS OVERLOOKED WHEN THE TWR CHANGED CTLRS.
