Was en route climb on clt hornet 1 gaffo north departure with 250 KT speed restriction. FMC was landed to include speed restriction. When out of 10000' aircraft accelerated to 300 KTS. ATC inquired and advised of speed restriction. Speed intervention was exercised. Suggest pilot ensure that FMC's operate as programmed and be prepared to intervene.
