Narrative:
My small aircraft was on the 45, cleared to land on runway 27R, right traffic. Another small aircraft Y approached in climb attitude, probably after making the required right turnout off runway 27R. The big green pg&east tank has been removed! Previously, pilots were instructed to stay left of the tank. West/O the tank, there isn't that ground reference to aid in maintaining sep. Probably the small aircraft Y turned too far to the right (required for noise abatement), and xed the 45 degree entry path. Incident occurred just as I was about to turn to downwind, at mid-runway. The coliseum was about 1/8 mi off my left wing. My landing light was on. Oakland tower didn't warn of traffic.
