Narrative:

During the masters golf tournament, traffic in and out of augusta and bush field is extremely heavy. I was working two aircraft inbound to bush field, both high performance turbo jets. I cannot recall aircraft types or callsigns, as I was very upset after the incident. During 'masters week' there was and always have been, minimal restrictions put out to help control the flow of traffic. The management takes on the 'let em come, we can handle it' attitude as always. Augusta aircraft is divided into two sectors during masters week. Daniel field arrs and bush field arrs. There was and generally are no preferential arrival rtes put in place. The sector becomes very busy during the early morning and late afternoon because of arrs and departures. I was working the radar position during the evening 'evacuation' period, a lot of aircraft come in to pick up their passengers and take them home. I was working two arrs, I vectored one across the daniel field zone towards the bush field zone descending 11000' and switched to augusta approach control. I then had another aircraft behind him descending to 11000' who I turned in behind the first aircraft. Augusta approach control did not descend the first aircraft as I thought they would, nor did they turn him towards the airport. I was very busy and did not see the possible conflict until my manual controller pointed it out to me. I turned the second aircraft very hard to the left. I saw this was not going to work. At that point I was concerned more of a mid-air collision than loss of sep, I climbed the second aircraft to 12000' and called the traffic. He said, ' I got him in sight'. I was very relieved but very shook up. The incident was entirely my fault, even though I was extremely busy. I told my supervisor what happened and he said 'don't say another word'. I have never been approached about the incident since it happened. I am concerned about future repercussions because my supervisor never wrote it up as a deal, much less a near miss.

Title: ARTCC CTLR ALLOWED AN ACFT TO OVERTAKE A PRECEDING ACFT HANDED OFF TO TRACON CTLR WHICH RESULTED IN LTSS.

Narrative: DURING THE MASTERS GOLF TOURNAMENT, TFC IN AND OUT OF AUGUSTA AND BUSH FIELD IS EXTREMELY HEAVY. I WAS WORKING TWO ACFT INBND TO BUSH FIELD, BOTH HIGH PERFORMANCE TURBO JETS. I CANNOT RECALL ACFT TYPES OR CALLSIGNS, AS I WAS VERY UPSET AFTER THE INCIDENT. DURING 'MASTERS WEEK' THERE WAS AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN, MINIMAL RESTRICTIONS PUT OUT TO HELP CTL THE FLOW OF TFC. THE MGMNT TAKES ON THE 'LET EM COME, WE CAN HANDLE IT' ATTITUDE AS ALWAYS. AUGUSTA ACFT IS DIVIDED INTO TWO SECTORS DURING MASTERS WK. DANIEL FIELD ARRS AND BUSH FIELD ARRS. THERE WAS AND GENERALLY ARE NO PREFERENTIAL ARR RTES PUT IN PLACE. THE SECTOR BECOMES VERY BUSY DURING THE EARLY MORNING AND LATE AFTERNOON BECAUSE OF ARRS AND DEPS. I WAS WORKING THE RADAR POS DURING THE EVENING 'EVACUATION' PERIOD, A LOT OF ACFT COME IN TO PICK UP THEIR PAXS AND TAKE THEM HOME. I WAS WORKING TWO ARRS, I VECTORED ONE ACROSS THE DANIEL FIELD ZONE TOWARDS THE BUSH FIELD ZONE DSNDING 11000' AND SWITCHED TO AUGUSTA APCH CTL. I THEN HAD ANOTHER ACFT BEHIND HIM DSNDING TO 11000' WHO I TURNED IN BEHIND THE FIRST ACFT. AUGUSTA APCH CTL DID NOT DSND THE FIRST ACFT AS I THOUGHT THEY WOULD, NOR DID THEY TURN HIM TOWARDS THE ARPT. I WAS VERY BUSY AND DID NOT SEE THE POSSIBLE CONFLICT UNTIL MY MANUAL CTLR POINTED IT OUT TO ME. I TURNED THE SECOND ACFT VERY HARD TO THE L. I SAW THIS WAS NOT GOING TO WORK. AT THAT POINT I WAS CONCERNED MORE OF A MID-AIR COLLISION THAN LOSS OF SEP, I CLBED THE SECOND ACFT TO 12000' AND CALLED THE TFC. HE SAID, ' I GOT HIM IN SIGHT'. I WAS VERY RELIEVED BUT VERY SHOOK UP. THE INCIDENT WAS ENTIRELY MY FAULT, EVEN THOUGH I WAS EXTREMELY BUSY. I TOLD MY SUPVR WHAT HAPPENED AND HE SAID 'DON'T SAY ANOTHER WORD'. I HAVE NEVER BEEN APCHED ABOUT THE INCIDENT SINCE IT HAPPENED. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT FUTURE REPERCUSSIONS BECAUSE MY SUPVR NEVER WROTE IT UP AS A DEAL, MUCH LESS A NEAR MISS.
