Narrative:
Called up evb tower to come back in from 4 miles east of the airport. We were cleared to the lighthouse; then a left downwind for 25; cleared to land runway 25. Traffic was departing 7 but tower told us they were departing 25 and we were cleared after. We caught sight of them less than 1 mile away; same altitude coming straight at us. We turned to the right continued a descent to 500ft then climbed on a north heading to 800 ft. Tower then cleared us for a right downwind runway 25 again; but we figured a left downwind runway 7 was correct. We were cleared to land runway 25 again. We read back 7 and finally were cleared runway 7.
