Narrative:

While taxiing, after landing, struck tail section of small aircraft. We were cleared to land on 34L. After landing on rollout, the tower requested that we turn off on the next intersection (7F). We were told to hold short of 34R and remain on tower frequency. Tower controller then asked that we contact ground. We contacted ground and he asked that we hold for landing traffic. I acknowledged. The ground controller then cleared us to cross. Before we finished crossing, we struck the small aircraft. Ground controller should not have approved crossing with an active runway with an aircraft stopped directly in front of our aircraft. Forward visibility is severely restr in an small transport.

Title: GND COLLISION BETWEEN SMT AND SMA.

Narrative: WHILE TAXIING, AFTER LNDG, STRUCK TAIL SECTION OF SMA. WE WERE CLRED TO LAND ON 34L. AFTER LNDG ON ROLLOUT, THE TWR REQUESTED THAT WE TURN OFF ON THE NEXT INTXN (7F). WE WERE TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF 34R AND REMAIN ON TWR FREQ. TWR CTLR THEN ASKED THAT WE CONTACT GND. WE CONTACTED GND AND HE ASKED THAT WE HOLD FOR LNDG TFC. I ACKNOWLEDGED. THE GND CTLR THEN CLRED US TO CROSS. BEFORE WE FINISHED XING, WE STRUCK THE SMA. GND CTLR SHOULD NOT HAVE APPROVED XING WITH AN ACTIVE RWY WITH AN ACFT STOPPED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF OUR ACFT. FORWARD VISIBILITY IS SEVERELY RESTR IN AN SMT.
