Narrative:

Aircraft was sitting on maintenance ramp at FBO. The captain received the taxi clearance to runway 12R via runway 31 to cross runway 24 at foxtrot, turn left on microphone, hold short of 12R at microphone. Aircraft left the ramp at kilo instead of november, made a right turn onto runway 35 (which was not in operation as well as runway 31 and 24). After taxiing a few moments, the captain realized things did not look right. We looked at our heading indicator and saw it was showing a 350 degree heading. The captain proceeded to the end of the runway and turned left on runway 24. In the fog we missed the turnoff at foxtrot, which would have taken us to taxiway microphone, then to runway 12L at the end. The captain realized that he was disoriented as to exactly where the next turnoff was, so we proceeded down runway 24 to papa taxiway. We made a left turn on papa, then right on taxiway charlie, and held short of runway 12R. The ground controller asked, 'how did you get there?' the captain replied, 'I got lost back there.' before the captain could continue and explain the route we took, the controller said, 'were you aware that you crossed an active runway.' the captain replied, 'no, I was not aware of that.' the controller then said, 'I don't know what to do with you now, contact tower.' we later found out that the controller filed a violation with the local GADO office for a runway incursion. Mitigating circumstances that should be included: low visibility in fog, making taxiing difficult. Departing ramp from the wrong taxiway. Knowing we were departing low ceilings and visibility with an aircraft that had just had an engine change. Not being aware of being scheduled to fly to st louis to pick up the aircraft until 9 mins before our flight. The captain's family situation with having a pregnant wife at home 3 days overdue who would not be able to contact him due to the schedule change. My experience level in the airplane with just being hired by the company, and not having high density airport experience at lambert-stl.

Title: COMMUTER SMT UNAUTH TAXI RWY CROSSING.

Narrative: ACFT WAS SITTING ON MAINT RAMP AT FBO. THE CAPT RECEIVED THE TAXI CLRNC TO RWY 12R VIA RWY 31 TO CROSS RWY 24 AT FOXTROT, TURN LEFT ON MIKE, HOLD SHORT OF 12R AT MIKE. ACFT LEFT THE RAMP AT KILO INSTEAD OF NOVEMBER, MADE A RIGHT TURN ONTO RWY 35 (WHICH WAS NOT IN OPERATION AS WELL AS RWY 31 AND 24). AFTER TAXIING A FEW MOMENTS, THE CAPT REALIZED THINGS DID NOT LOOK RIGHT. WE LOOKED AT OUR HDG INDICATOR AND SAW IT WAS SHOWING A 350 DEG HDG. THE CAPT PROCEEDED TO THE END OF THE RWY AND TURNED LEFT ON RWY 24. IN THE FOG WE MISSED THE TURNOFF AT FOXTROT, WHICH WOULD HAVE TAKEN US TO TXWY MIKE, THEN TO RWY 12L AT THE END. THE CAPT REALIZED THAT HE WAS DISORIENTED AS TO EXACTLY WHERE THE NEXT TURNOFF WAS, SO WE PROCEEDED DOWN RWY 24 TO PAPA TXWY. WE MADE A LEFT TURN ON PAPA, THEN RIGHT ON TXWY CHARLIE, AND HELD SHORT OF RWY 12R. THE GND CTLR ASKED, 'HOW DID YOU GET THERE?' THE CAPT REPLIED, 'I GOT LOST BACK THERE.' BEFORE THE CAPT COULD CONTINUE AND EXPLAIN THE ROUTE WE TOOK, THE CTLR SAID, 'WERE YOU AWARE THAT YOU CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY.' THE CAPT REPLIED, 'NO, I WAS NOT AWARE OF THAT.' THE CTLR THEN SAID, 'I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH YOU NOW, CONTACT TWR.' WE LATER FOUND OUT THAT THE CTLR FILED A VIOLATION WITH THE LCL GADO OFFICE FOR A RWY INCURSION. MITIGATING CIRCUMSTANCES THAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED: LOW VISIBILITY IN FOG, MAKING TAXIING DIFFICULT. DEPARTING RAMP FROM THE WRONG TXWY. KNOWING WE WERE DEPARTING LOW CEILINGS AND VISIBILITY WITH AN ACFT THAT HAD JUST HAD AN ENG CHANGE. NOT BEING AWARE OF BEING SCHEDULED TO FLY TO ST LOUIS TO PICK UP THE ACFT UNTIL 9 MINS BEFORE OUR FLT. THE CAPT'S FAMILY SITUATION WITH HAVING A PREGNANT WIFE AT HOME 3 DAYS OVERDUE WHO WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CONTACT HIM DUE TO THE SCHEDULE CHANGE. MY EXPERIENCE LEVEL IN THE AIRPLANE WITH JUST BEING HIRED BY THE COMPANY, AND NOT HAVING HIGH DENSITY ARPT EXPERIENCE AT LAMBERT-STL.
