Narrative:

Unsafe parallel visual approaches to runway 26L/right den. Approach control spaces you on companion traffic while you are in base leg, clears you for parallel visuals without your concurrence, and tells you not to pass the other aircraft which has the ability to fly slower by 10-15 KTS. You are now forced to fly night formation (less than 900' apart) without briefing or training on other pilots whose ability you know nothing of or going around when you have done nothing wrong. If nothing else, this is a gross violation of the sterile cockpit and one large distraction to val SOP's. Sooner or later someone is going to lose an engine and I don't want to be next to a single engine go around.
