Narrative:

Frequency 123.9; the secondary local frequency; has experienced interference for approximately a month or more. It was thought that the problem was due to a 'rogue' radio station but; subsequent to the shutdown of that station; the problem has persisted; rendering 123.9 unusable during the peak traffic periods that it would normally be in use. When the frequency is used aircraft report interference and an inability to hear ATC instructions. This frequency's importance is secondary only to the primary local frequency of 119.1. Inability to use this frequency causes confusion with aircraft. It is normally in use during peak periods and we are forced to use other frequencies. Interference and an inability to use this frequency is hazardous; and can lead to aircraft incidents and accidents.
