Narrative:

A FAL2000 conducted a high speed abort on runway 24. We were cleared for an immediate takeoff on 24 with another aircraft on a 4 mile final. Then at approximately 80 KTS we heard the tower first say something that was stepped on; sounded like 'stop;' then; 'taxi clearance canceled;' at which time I initiated an abort. Then the tower finally said; 'takeoff clearance canceled; abort.' we cleared the runway and were informed that ground had cleared an aircraft to cross down the runway after we were cleared for takeoff; when we were on tower frequency and could not have heard it. The non-standard phraseology used by the controller made it very difficult to immediately understand his intentions and the immediate takeoff with an aircraft on final was an additional factor.
