Narrative:

Crew advised they could not land at the filed destination due to weather. I consulted with systems control who advised he wanted me to divert the flight to a nearby airport. The crew told me they were diverting to a more distant airport; which was not listed on the release. I replied 'negative company wants you to go to ZZZ.' he advised that weather ceiling was low at at both nearby airports. I told him we were well above CAT ii minimums for the nearby alternate runway xxr. He ignored me and proceeded to the more distant airport under the captain's emergency authority.
