Narrative:

After checking the cabin I went to my jumpseat; sat down and could not pull the right shoulder strap as it was locked up. I tried pulling it both fast and slow to no avail. I got up quickly; advised the purser and sat in seat 6B in first class as the flight was very full there were no nearby seats nor time to do much else. I saw the mechanic after the passengers deplaned and he said it was broken and he was planning on replacing the whole seat belt. It worked fine for take off.
