Narrative:

Cleared for takeoff on 18L at dfw. Lined up on the outer, and spooled up. Tower advised we were on the taxiway. Power was reduced and next turn off back to the end of 18L. Asked tower if there was a problem, and they advised after a moment that there was no problem. Supplemental information from acn 94948. Tower notified the flight of the error prior to 40 KTS. Abort was initiated and left turn made at taxiway 21. Subsequent takeoff was made west/O incident.

Title: ACR MLG BEGAN TKOF ROLL ON A TXWY.

Narrative: CLRED FOR TKOF ON 18L AT DFW. LINED UP ON THE OUTER, AND SPOOLED UP. TWR ADVISED WE WERE ON THE TXWY. PWR WAS REDUCED AND NEXT TURN OFF BACK TO THE END OF 18L. ASKED TWR IF THERE WAS A PROB, AND THEY ADVISED AFTER A MOMENT THAT THERE WAS NO PROB. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 94948. TWR NOTIFIED THE FLT OF THE ERROR PRIOR TO 40 KTS. ABORT WAS INITIATED AND L TURN MADE AT TXWY 21. SUBSEQUENT TKOF WAS MADE W/O INCIDENT.
