Narrative:

Approximately 30 minutes into the flight we received a right AC bus failure warning. We followed checklist procedures and requested a higher altitude which got us out of icing conditions. After conferring with dispatch we felt the best and safest option at this point was to continue to our destination. The weather conditions were better and were expected to improve even more. In fact the weather was clear when we arrived. We did not want to turn back because we did not want to go back into icing conditions. Also we were also concerned the weather might go below landing minimums by the time we got back. After we landed maintenance asked us to run up the aircraft and isolate the right tru [transformer rectifier unit] which cleared all the caution lights except the right tru caution light. It was then deferred under MEL per maintenance control.
