Narrative:

I volunteered to assist a fellow dispatcher with some spot ferry flights. One such flight was placed on my desk for which I did a flight release. I never spoke with the pilot in command. The dispatch coordinator later advised me that the flight had been deleted for reasons unknown to me. I was very busy with extensive phone calls; ACARS messages; bingo fuel calculation; ATC reroutes; route briefings; etc.; and was unaware that the crew was not legal to fly the trip. During my shift on the next day it was brought to my attention that the crew had operated the deleted flight; apparently unaware of their illegality.
