Narrative:

Just about all I fly is [coast to coast]. I fly an airplane that is equipped with internet capability. With the spring storm season in full swing; it is incomprehensible to me that I am not allowed to pull out my laptop and get the big weather picture. How ridiculous is it that the people sitting in the cabin have better weather information than the captain...the person who signs on the bottom line for their safety! I am so sick of playing connect the dots on the enroute chart from the convective sigmets sent by dispatch. Let's face it; there are certain days where a picture is worth a thousand words!!! This is a no brainer. The people who established this policy have to be educated on what important safety tool they are denying us. The technology is finally here.
