Narrative:

We were cleared for a visual approach to runway 35R. When 8 DME from field (on final) the approach controller said we had parallel traffic at 10 O'clock, descend to 1500'. As he called it out I saw an medium large transport in a steep bank. He was overshooting centerline of runway 35L and we banked to the right to stay behind him and descended 500'. The medium large transport overshot the right runway also and overshot well to the right of centerline runway 35R. We were able to stay behind him and waited till he headed back to line up on the runway 35L. We landed west/O incident. This was a near miss. If we'd been 10 KTS faster and if the approach controller hadn't called him out when he did, we may have ended up colliding.

Title: EVASIVE ACTION TAKEN TO AVOID ACFT OVERSHOOTING TURN ONTO FINAL.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 35R. WHEN 8 DME FROM FIELD (ON FINAL) THE APCH CTLR SAID WE HAD PARALLEL TFC AT 10 O'CLOCK, DSND TO 1500'. AS HE CALLED IT OUT I SAW AN MLG IN A STEEP BANK. HE WAS OVERSHOOTING CENTERLINE OF RWY 35L AND WE BANKED TO THE RIGHT TO STAY BEHIND HIM AND DSNDED 500'. THE MLG OVERSHOT THE RIGHT RWY ALSO AND OVERSHOT WELL TO THE RIGHT OF CENTERLINE RWY 35R. WE WERE ABLE TO STAY BEHIND HIM AND WAITED TILL HE HEADED BACK TO LINE UP ON THE RWY 35L. WE LANDED W/O INCIDENT. THIS WAS A NEAR MISS. IF WE'D BEEN 10 KTS FASTER AND IF THE APCH CTLR HADN'T CALLED HIM OUT WHEN HE DID, WE MAY HAVE ENDED UP COLLIDING.
