Narrative:

We were on taxiway C to runway 36R at clt. Before takeoff checks were done, the smoke aft light came on. The copilot told ground that we had an aircraft problem. I told the F/a we had a smoke aft light on and to evacuate/evacuation the airplane. I called ground after we checked for fire, smoke. There was none. Did not get a reply on #2 radio. Also called maintenance and charlotte station on #1 radio for a van--did not show. After maintenance cleared the airplane, I boarded the passenger and returned to the gate. Later we found that the copilot microphone stuck open. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter thought it was a false warning, but could not be sure. The smoke detector was changed before the aircraft departed again. Reporter does not know if moisture was the problem or a bad detector.
