Narrative:
I was flying a left downwind, turning base for runway 17 at pie. A near collision occurred with another single engine small aircraft flying a left downwind for runway 9 at the same airport. I was cleared to land on runway 17L, and this traffic was never pointed out to me. A pull up and evasive turn was executed immediately to avoid a collision.

Title: CLOSE PROX GA-SMA GA-SMA IN PIE ATA.
Narrative: I WAS FLYING A LEFT DOWNWIND, TURNING BASE FOR RWY 17 AT PIE. A NEAR COLLISION OCCURRED WITH ANOTHER SINGLE ENG SMA FLYING A LEFT DOWNWIND FOR RWY 9 AT THE SAME ARPT. I WAS CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 17L, AND THIS TFC WAS NEVER POINTED OUT TO ME. A PULL UP AND EVASIVE TURN WAS EXECUTED IMMEDIATELY TO AVOID A COLLISION.
