Narrative:

We recently switched to new manuals and completely new checklists. After taxiing out and holding short of runway; we were parked on the runup pad with parking brake set. During this time we were discussing the new checklists and procedures for securing the cabin before takeoff. There was another flight with a similar call sign. When the tower instructed them to position and hold; we apparently read back and accepted their clearance. Tower did not advise us otherwise so we taxied into position. After sitting in position for a few minutes; we heard tower clear another flight for takeoff on our runway. We advised tower that we were in position on this runway. At that time he told us we must have taken someone else's clearance and said; 'but it turns out it is going to work out.' he then cleared us for takeoff and we continued to our destination.
