Narrative:

The aircraft had a maintenance problem. Lights in first class and forward half of business class were inoperative except for gooseneck reading lights. Cockpit and maintenance workers pressured crew to go anyway. We agreed. No smoking and fasten seat belt lights inoperative also. Call chimes and lights also. It wasn't until we were in the air I realized if I had to do a cabin preparation for evacuation I would not be able to turn the cabin lights to bright. Boarding was during daylight but deplaning was dark and dangerous.
