Narrative:

On aircraft boarding, #1 flight attendant had a question as to which of 2 ovens in forward galley was inoperative as a partial inoperative sticker was on left oven (facing forward). The left oven was placarded inoperative in the logbook. Facing aft, the placard was judged to be on the wrong oven and moved to the other oven. The #1 flight attendant tested both ovens on the ground and they worked ok. Both were subsequently used in-flight. Due to confusion as to the real right or left, the placarded oven was used then placarded inoperative.
