Narrative:

As I was on a right base leg for runway 4R at ZZZ; I was cleared to land. After turning final; aircraft #2 was cleared for takeoff and I was asked to slow down. As I crossed the fence the tower asked me to sidestep to the right side of the runway and go around. Aircraft #2 lifted off safely and I replied that I was landing. I neglected to use the word 'unable.' obviously; if I thought there was any danger; I could have waved-off and gone around. The tower should be aware of the performance of the different aircraft; especially when there is questionable spacing.

Narrative: AS I WAS ON A R BASE LEG FOR RWY 4R AT ZZZ; I WAS CLRED TO LAND. AFTER TURNING FINAL; ACFT #2 WAS CLRED FOR TKOF AND I WAS ASKED TO SLOW DOWN. AS I CROSSED THE FENCE THE TWR ASKED ME TO SIDESTEP TO THE R SIDE OF THE RWY AND GO AROUND. ACFT #2 LIFTED OFF SAFELY AND I REPLIED THAT I WAS LNDG. I NEGLECTED TO USE THE WORD 'UNABLE.' OBVIOUSLY; IF I THOUGHT THERE WAS ANY DANGER; I COULD HAVE WAVED-OFF AND GONE AROUND. THE TWR SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE PERFORMANCE OF THE DIFFERENT ACFT; ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS QUESTIONABLE SPACING.
