Narrative:

Raas volume too loud. Much louder than comfortable volume of ATC selected on communication panel. Additionally; 'alerted' crew 'approaching runway xx' when already past threshold at normal taxi speed (10 KTS maximum). Either raas volume needs to be adjustable or it needs to be removed. Additionally; if this piece of FOD is going to remain on this airplane; the software needs to be modified to provide timely notification of position.

Title: A B737 PILOT COMMENTS THAT THE RAAS AUTOMATED ALERTS ARE TOO LOUD AND INTERFERE WITH ATC COM AND FLIGHT OPERATIONS.

Narrative: RAAS VOLUME TOO LOUD. MUCH LOUDER THAN COMFORTABLE VOLUME OF ATC SELECTED ON COM PANEL.
