Narrative:

Upon inspection of a-chk of the B767; checking portable (halon) fire extinguishers; it was brought to my attention that one bottle was due to be changed per paperwork. Due dates are under perception of company policy. Bottle was inspected in jul/08; date due showed sep/08. I assumed it was not due for over 2 months per policy. A way to avoid further inspection problems is to put full date due on bottles such as sep/xa/08. That way there would be no misunderstanding when item is due; per paperwork in either days or in next 2 months to replace bottle.
