Narrative:

On the day of jul/xa/08; along with fellow amt's; went out to meet aircraft because of an air turn back for left hydraulic quantity decreasing. Due to hydraulic leak; had to pin landing gear and do inspection. At this time no tires were deflated. After walkaround; 1 main gear tire started to deflate. Informed crew which was going to taxi to gate. After 10 mins second tire deflated. At this time the aircraft had to remain on the active runway until both tires were changed. Did inspection of main gear brakes before changing tires. Aircraft was towed to gate at terminal and hydraulic leak was worked on. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated he was informed months after the B767-300 air turnback incident; that he did not make an entry into the logbook stating he had accomplished a high energy stop inspection of the main landing gears; brakes and tires. Reporter stated that was the first thing they did; along with installing the gear pins for safety reasons prior to towing the aircraft. The brakes were really hot and the overheat fuse plugs on the two main tires melted causing the tires to deflate right there on the active runway. They had to change both tires prior to moving the B767.

Narrative: ON THE DAY OF JUL/XA/08; ALONG WITH FELLOW AMT'S; WENT OUT TO MEET ACFT BECAUSE OF AN AIR TURN BACK FOR L HYD QUANTITY DECREASING. DUE TO HYD LEAK; HAD TO PIN LNDG GEAR AND DO INSPECTION.
