Narrative:

Upon coming into work on aug/xa/08 aircraft X was having work done in the fuel cell on right wing. When walking by noticed aircraft fuel cell was being vented into middle of hangar. Aircraft was parked in front of parts room and was too far away from venting ports that vent to outside of hangar. So there were vent hoses running over wing just to back of tail right in center of hangar. So fumes were just being disbursed into hangar; not outside. Thought this was very dangerous for fire danger and everyone else breathing in the fumes. At this time could not find supervisor to notify. Was not sure of mechanics working on aircraft; they were not around at the time I noticed it. Aircraft needs to be parked at spot to connect to vent outside. One of those spots were taken up by heavy aircraft for heavy sheet metal repair. Other spot had another aircraft in it for non-routine engine work.
