Narrative:

While flying to hnl we were made aware of the fact that the only oceanic en route charts we had on board were not effective until the next day. We had checked our charts prior to departure but didn't notice the effective date. This is important because on the new charts all the waypoints on the tracks change. So the charts had been changed on the aircraft early and the current charts removed and we didn't catch it at the gate. We didn't have charts on board that showed the waypoints that we were flying that day. We were on our way over the ocean and elected to continue. We were busy prior to departure dealing with the security sweep procedure issue. We were busy with that and missed the effective dates on the charts. Don't remove current charts from the airplane.
