Narrative:

We were on a flight to ZZZ. Upon reaching FL370; we lost communication. The captain told me to squawk 7500; I agreed. After 15-20 mins; we realized that we needed to put 7600; not 7500; so we did. My communications did not work at all. The captain got one of his to partly work getting clearance to land at ZZZ. After landing; we were surrounded by 20+ cop cars and guns drawn. We made a huge mistake and will never happen again.
