Narrative:
I was returning to reno on a VFR flight plan. The active runways were runway 34R and runway 34L. I was approaching from the west; and cleared to land on runway 34R with a left base. As I turned from base to final I heard an airplane report a mid-field downwind for runway 34R. I looked for that airplane as I rolled from base to final leg; about 1 mi from the end of the runway. Upon landing; I immediately realized that I had landed on the left runway instead of the right. I called the tower as soon as I shut the airplane down. The tower personnel confirmed that there were no aircraft approaching to land or preparing to take off from runway 34L when I landed. I believe I was over-involved in seeing the plane on downwind leg; and didn't see the runway number while landing as a result.

Title: A PA34 PLT LANDS ON RWY 34L INSTEAD OF RWY 34R AS CLRED.
Narrative: I WAS RETURNING TO RENO ON A VFR FLT PLAN. THE ACTIVE RWYS WERE RWY 34R AND RWY 34L. I WAS APCHING FROM THE W; AND CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 34R WITH A L BASE. AS I TURNED FROM BASE TO FINAL I HEARD AN AIRPLANE RPT A MID-FIELD DOWNWIND FOR RWY 34R. I LOOKED FOR THAT AIRPLANE AS I ROLLED FROM BASE TO FINAL LEG; ABOUT 1 MI FROM THE END OF THE RWY. UPON LNDG; I IMMEDIATELY REALIZED THAT I HAD LANDED ON THE L RWY INSTEAD OF THE R. I CALLED THE TWR AS SOON AS I SHUT THE AIRPLANE DOWN. THE TWR PERSONNEL CONFIRMED THAT THERE WERE NO ACFT APCHING TO LAND OR PREPARING TO TAKE OFF FROM RWY 34L WHEN I LANDED. I BELIEVE I WAS OVER-INVOLVED IN SEEING THE PLANE ON DOWNWIND LEG; AND DIDN'T SEE THE RWY NUMBER WHILE LNDG AS A RESULT.
