Narrative:

We were held for a long time at 17000 ft and in turbulence. Eventually received clearance to climb and missed altimeter change at FL180. Controller called and said he showed us 300 ft high at FL350 at the same time we were cleared to FL360. He suggested we check the altimeter which we had already done; set 29.92 and continued climb to FL360.
