Narrative:
The mechanics mistakenly put -300 nose tires on a -700 aircraft! I audited the work package and did not catch the problem by reviewing the paperwork. The problem was discovered by records and the problem was corrected. I signed the lead mechanic line on the parts tag. That was the extent of my involvement. After going through a lot of work packages; I probably tend to become complacent.

Title: A B737-700 WAS DISPATCHED WITH B737-300 NOSE LNDG GEAR WHEELS AND TIRES INSTALLED ON A SCHEDULED OVERNIGHT CHK.
Narrative: THE MECHS MISTAKENLY PUT -300 NOSE TIRES ON A -700 ACFT! I AUDITED THE WORK PACKAGE AND DID NOT CATCH THE PROB BY REVIEWING THE PAPERWORK. THE PROB WAS DISCOVERED BY RECORDS AND THE PROB WAS CORRECTED. I SIGNED THE LEAD MECH LINE ON THE PARTS TAG. THAT WAS THE EXTENT OF MY INVOLVEMENT. AFTER GOING THROUGH A LOT OF WORK PACKAGES; I PROBABLY TEND TO BECOME COMPLACENT.
