Narrative:
Aircraft X came in on thurs/apr/03 for an 'a' check and needed nose tires. All the 700 tire carts were being used, so I went to pick up a set of nose tires from the new stock. I picked up a wrong set of tires, a 300 series set instead of a 700. The tire was installed and a couple of days later I was notified by my supervisor that I installed the wrong tires and that it would be changed out as soon as possible at the next maintenance station. The nose wheels of a 700 and 300 aircraft are the same and at one time were interchangeable. It is not an excuse, I made a mistake and forgot that it is not interchangeable.
