Test lru was installed for functional check and aircraft was dispatched with test lru. How the problem arose: no spare part. Contributing factors: shortage of time at shift change. How it was discovered: no proper paperwork found.

Title: A B737-700 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH A CTL DISPLAY TEST UNIT INSTALLED, ORIGINAL UNIT ROBBED FOR ANOTHER ACFT. NO LOG WRITE-UP MADE FOR ROBBED PART.

Narrative: CTL DISPLAY UNIT WAS REMOVED FOR ANOTHER ACFT CLOSE TO SHIFT CHANGE. LOGBOOK ENTRY FOR REMOVAL OF CTL DISPLAY UNIT WAS NOT ENTERED.
