Narrative:

Leaving from the old town seaplane base in river; I was on my way to medway; me. The winds were calm in the river and I planned to depart to north. At about 600-800 ft; I realized I left my cell phone at the FBO. I turned the aircraft back around and was lined up the bend in the river. While maneuvering the aircraft away from the bend in river; right float touched the water then dragged the wingtip down resulting in submerging the aircraft.

Title: PIPER J3 CUB PLT DURING A WATER LNDG STRIKES THE R WING AND THE ACFT SUBMERGES.

Narrative: LEAVING FROM THE OLD TOWN SEAPLANE BASE IN RIVER; I WAS ON MY WAY TO MEDWAY; ME. THE WINDS WERE CALM IN THE RIVER AND I PLANNED TO DEPART TO N. AT ABOUT 600-800 FT; I REALIZED I LEFT MY CELL PHONE AT THE FBO. I TURNED THE ACFT BACK AROUND AND WAS LINED UP THE BEND IN THE RIVER. WHILE MANEUVERING THE ACFT AWAY FROM THE BEND IN RIVER; R FLOAT TOUCHED THE WATER THEN DRAGGED THE WINGTIP DOWN RESULTING IN SUBMERGING THE ACFT.
