Narrative:
After a plane swap in ZZZ; the crew took charge of aircraft X. I attended to the paperwork while the first officer conducted a detailed exterior inspection. No defects were noted. The flight was conducted as normal. Upon arrival at the gate at ZZZ1; the ground crew notified us of a missing panel on the #1 engine cowling. We notified dispatch and maintenance as soon as possible and entered the discrepancy in the logbook.

Narrative: AFTER A PLANE SWAP IN ZZZ; THE CREW TOOK CHARGE OF ACFT X. I ATTENDED TO THE PAPERWORK WHILE THE FO CONDUCTED A DETAILED EXTERIOR INSPECTION. NO DEFECTS WERE NOTED. THE FLT WAS CONDUCTED AS NORMAL. UPON ARR AT THE GATE AT ZZZ1; THE GND CREW NOTIFIED US OF A MISSING PANEL ON THE #1 ENG COWLING.
