Narrative:

PIREP: autospoiler inoperative light illuminated on overhead. Problem had been worked previously and had a problematic maintenance history. I went and assessed discrepancy. Determination was reapplication of MEL and MEL procedure for release to revenue flight. Special procedures were accomplished; aircraft was released. On approach to ZZZ; spoiler handle was found not in a flight mode condition. Special procedures were again accomplished in ZZZ and spoiler then fully retracted to proper position with no further discrepancies noted.

Title: A B737-400 WAS DISPATCHED WITH THE AUTOSPOILERS INOP PER THE MEL. ON APCH; THE SPOILER HANDLE WAS FOUND NOT IN THE FLT MODE DETENT.

ON APCH TO ZZZ; SPOILER HANDLE WAS FOUND NOT IN A FLT MODE CONDITION. SPECIAL PROCS WERE AGAIN ACCOMPLISHED IN ZZZ AND SPOILER THEN FULLY RETRACTED TO PROPER POS WITH NO FURTHER DISCREPANCIES NOTED.
