Narrative:

Inbound to 0q3 I reported my position on the airport frequency 122.9 with my intention of entering a downwind for runway 25. Wind was approximately 150 degrees at 8 KTS; preferred runway is runway 25 if wind is less than 10 KTS. I observed no inbound traffic or heard anyone on the CTAF. As I touched down on runway 25; I noticed a maule aircraft either landing or on the takeoff roll opposite direction on runway 7. Again; no calls were made on CTAF. I touched down and immediately moved off the runway to the parallel grass strip to avoid any conflict and taxied to the ramp. The maule taxied back; departed runway 7 and made a nonstandard departure which interferes with the pattern at sonoma skypark airport. While the use of runway 25 or runway 7 was a borderline judgement call with an almost 90 degree crosswind; any conflict could have been avoided by the proper use of the correct CTAF by the other aircraft. Complicating factor was the color of the other aircraft blending into the terrain.

Title: PLT OF LNDG SMA MUST EXPEDITE OFF THE RWY AT 0Q3 WHEN UNANNOUNCED TFC BEGINS TKOF ROLL IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION.

Narrative: INBOUND TO 0Q3 I RPTED MY POS ON THE ARPT FREQ 122.9 WITH MY INTENTION OF ENTERING A DOWNWIND FOR RWY 25. WIND WAS APPROX 150 DEGS AT 8 KTS; PREFERRED RWY IS RWY 25 IF WIND IS LESS THAN 10 KTS. I OBSERVED NO INBOUND TFC OR HEARD ANYONE ON THE CTAF. AS I TOUCHED DOWN ON RWY 25; I NOTICED A MAULE ACFT EITHER LNDG OR ON THE TKOF ROLL OPPOSITE DIRECTION ON RWY 7. AGAIN; NO CALLS WERE MADE ON CTAF. I TOUCHED DOWN AND IMMEDIATELY MOVED OFF THE RWY TO THE PARALLEL GRASS STRIP TO AVOID ANY CONFLICT AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP. THE MAULE TAXIED BACK; DEPARTED RWY 7 AND MADE A NONSTANDARD DEP WHICH INTERFERES WITH THE PATTERN AT SONOMA SKYPARK ARPT. WHILE THE USE OF RWY 25 OR RWY 7 WAS A BORDERLINE JUDGEMENT CALL WITH AN ALMOST 90 DEG XWIND; ANY CONFLICT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY THE PROPER USE OF THE CORRECT CTAF BY THE OTHER ACFT. COMPLICATING FACTOR WAS THE COLOR OF THE OTHER ACFT BLENDING INTO THE TERRAIN.
