Narrative:
I was conducting OJT on the dallas north position at dfw TRACON. We received handoffs of a PAY3 eastbound on the north airway (north 6 mi of our airspace) going to dal at 4000 ft. Also; an HS25 from the northeast going to ads descending to 3000 ft out of 7000 ft approximately 20 mi apart. The HS25 turned west as per the STAR. I brought the conflict to the trainee's attention. He expedited the HS25's descent and turned him; but separation was lost. I had not conducted OJT on this position for several yrs and it was my first session with this trainee on this position. Supplemental information from acn 677073: as a developmental ATC specialist; I was involved in a pilot deviation/loss of separation the day prior to this event which left me feeling distraction and anxious. Nonetheless; I volunteered to receive OJT on the dallas north/ar-7 position combined. Due to anxiety and distraction from the previous day; my frame of interpretive reference was askew; and I should have requested not to train that day.

Title: D10 CTLR PROVIDING OJT; EXPERIENCED OPERROR AT 4000 FT; AS DEVELOPMENTAL CTLR FAILED TO TAKE TIMELY CORRECTIVE ACTION WITH DSNDING ACFT.
Narrative: I WAS CONDUCTING OJT ON THE DALLAS N POS AT DFW TRACON. WE RECEIVED HDOFS OF A PAY3 EBOUND ON THE N AIRWAY (N 6 MI OF OUR AIRSPACE) GOING TO DAL AT 4000 FT. ALSO; AN HS25 FROM THE NE GOING TO ADS DSNDING TO 3000 FT OUT OF 7000 FT APPROX 20 MI APART. THE HS25 TURNED W AS PER THE STAR. I BROUGHT THE CONFLICT TO THE TRAINEE'S ATTN. HE EXPEDITED THE HS25'S DSCNT AND TURNED HIM; BUT SEPARATION WAS LOST. I HAD NOT CONDUCTED OJT ON THIS POS FOR SEVERAL YRS AND IT WAS MY FIRST SESSION WITH THIS TRAINEE ON THIS POS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 677073: AS A DEVELOPMENTAL ATC SPECIALIST; I WAS INVOLVED IN A PLTDEV/LOSS OF SEPARATION THE DAY PRIOR TO THIS EVENT WHICH LEFT ME FEELING DISTR AND ANXIOUS. NONETHELESS; I VOLUNTEERED TO RECEIVE OJT ON THE DALLAS N/AR-7 POS COMBINED. DUE TO ANXIETY AND DISTR FROM THE PREVIOUS DAY; MY FRAME OF INTERPRETIVE REF WAS ASKEW; AND I SHOULD HAVE REQUESTED NOT TO TRAIN THAT DAY.
