Narrative:

On jul/xa/05 I was assigned to aircraft X to accomplish job card 'operations test of the elevator and aileron dampening measurement.' I made an entry in the logbook showing that I completed this task when actually I had completed and stamped off a different job card -- the operations test of the rudder servo; trim horizontal stabilizer electrical flight control system and cargo smoke detection. I was alerted to this discrepancy a week later by the company through disciplinary action. Typically the lead mechanic assigns a team a work pack with the job cards already printed in the pack along with a work release items sheet. Due to my complacency in having the correct work cards handed to me; I complied with the wrong job card and did my data entry in accordance with the work release items sheet.
