Narrative:

Departing aircraft and noticed a customs inspector was pulling off trim from window off door 1L to do some inspection. There were no maintenance folks around or anyone to supervise this. Seems inappropriate for the customs guy to pull anything off the aircraft unless he is a mechanic and documents his altering of the aircraft.

Title: A B757-200 CREW NOTES THAT A CUSTOMS INSPECTOR REMOVED 1L DOOR WINDOW TRIM WITHOUT A MECHANIC SUPERVISING THAT ACFT'S ALTERATION.

Narrative: DEPARTING ACFT AND NOTICED A CUSTOMS INSPECTOR WAS PULLING OFF TRIM FROM WINDOW OFF DOOR 1L TO DO SOME INSPECTION. THERE WERE NO MAINT FOLKS AROUND OR ANYONE TO SUPERVISE THIS.
