Narrative:

I went to pour a cup of coffee. Opened the coffee maker handle and coffee grounds and hot coffee hit me in the face. The coffee packet exploded leaving my face and neck with first and second degree burns. The oven had coffee grounds all over door and grounds on left hand side of galley. I feel there is a major problem with this coffee maker and serious investigations should take place. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: flight attendant stated the decaf coffee grounds went on her; the galley wall behind her; and the floor. She is relatively sure that the coffee had finished brewing when she lifted the handle. The coffee maker had been on a total of about 20 minutes and previously had brewed a pot of regular coffee. She does not have any idea who the coffee maker manufacturer is.
