Narrative:

Normal approach to landing opl; day VFR in tailwheel biplane. Computerized WX brief obtained at departure in eastern texas. Airport runway 6/24 at opl has long-term obstructions completely across runway -- not visible from flight. No visible indication of runway closure. Obstruction is midway down runway. Called airport advisory on unicom at 10 mi out; 5 mi out; and overhead. Did not receive a reply even though airport was manned. Never advised of runway closure. FBO advised that airport manager will not permit them to transmit advisories.

Narrative: NORMAL APCH TO LNDG OPL; DAY VFR IN TAILWHEEL BIPLANE. COMPUTERIZED WX BRIEF OBTAINED AT DEP IN EASTERN TEXAS. ARPT RWY 6/24 AT OPL HAS LONG-TERM OBSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY ACROSS RWY -- NOT VISIBLE FROM FLT. NO VISIBLE INDICATION OF RWY CLOSURE. OBSTRUCTION IS MIDWAY DOWN RWY. CALLED ARPT ADVISORY ON UNICOM AT 10 MI OUT; 5 MI OUT; AND OVERHEAD. DID NOT RECEIVE A REPLY EVEN THOUGH ARPT WAS MANNED. NEVER ADVISED OF RWY CLOSURE. FBO ADVISED THAT ARPT MGR WILL NOT PERMIT THEM TO XMIT ADVISORIES.
