Narrative:

At FL340 from ZZZ1 to ZZZ2; the first officer's front windshield shattered with a large bang. We immediately donned the oxygen masks and performed the QRH procedures. We notified ATC; declared an emergency; and decided to land in ZZZ3 which was nearby. We informed dispatch; the flight attendant; and the passenger and proceeded to ZZZ3. We landed uneventfully and were given the ok to park at the gate. I don't know what we could have done to prevent the incident; and I don't know the cause. I felt all parties involved acted quite professionally and ensured the safe landing.
