Narrative:
Aircraft arrived with automatic-land item. I reviewed aircraft history; no faults. I did 'rts' [unit self test; system autoland test] -- both sides were go. If there was a history; or faults; I would have called technician [maintenance control] and this would not have happened. I have re-read gpm lower minimum performance section. I understand aircraft should have been downgraded due to flight crew intervention.
