Narrative:

Arriving at the aircraft 55 min prior to scheduled departure, I checked the logbook for maintenance release docs, current write ups and autoland status. At this time I noticed the autoland was over 30 days since last check on autoland. I notified both the captain and the maintenance who were both in the cockpit at that time, and was told the aircraft would get a new maintenance release doc and changed to CAT ii status. I proceeded to start the rest of the safety checks in the back of the flight deck and then the walk around. Upon my return from the walk around the captain had left the flight deck and locked the door. Once the door was opened, I had about 10 mins to finish the rest of my preflight, and no problems found. During pushback the captain informed me that he and the maintenance did not change the maintenance release docs and the autoland status of the aircraft, and that we would ensure maintenance took care of this at the next station. I did not agree with this decision and expressed my opinion. He said that he as the captain was responsible for maintenance release doc status and that he sent an ACARS concerning this situation.

Narrative: ARRIVING AT THE ACFT 55 MIN PRIOR TO SCHEDULED DEP, I CHECKED THE LOGBOOK FOR MAINT RELEASE DOCS, CURRENT WRITE UPS AND AUTOLAND STATUS. AT THIS TIME I NOTICED THE AUTOLAND WAS OVER 30 DAYS SINCE LAST CHECK ON AUTOLAND. I NOTIFIED BOTH THE CAPT AND THE MAINT WHO WERE BOTH IN THE COCKPIT AT THAT TIME, AND WAS TOLD THE ACFT WOULD GET A NEW MAINT RELEASE DOC AND CHANGED TO CAT II STATUS. I PROCEEDED TO START THE REST OF THE SAFETY CHECKS IN THE BACK OF THE FLT DECK AND THEN THE WALK AROUND. UPON MY RETURN FROM THE WALK AROUND THE CAPT HAD LEFT THE FLT DECK AND LOCKED THE DOOR. ONCE THE DOOR WAS OPENED, I HAD ABOUT 10 MINS TO FINISH THE REST OF MY PREFLT, AND NO PROBS FOUND. DURING PUSHBACK THE CAPT INFORMED ME THAT HE AND THE MAINT DID NOT CHANGE THE MAINT RELEASE DOCS AND THE AUTOLAND STATUS OF THE ACFT, AND THAT WE WOULD ENSURE MAINT TOOK CARE OF THIS AT THE NEXT STATION. I DID NOT AGREE WITH THIS DECISION AND EXPRESSED MY OPINION. HE SAID THAT HE AS THE CAPT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINT RELEASE DOC STATUS AND THAT HE SENT AN ACARS CONCERNING THIS SIT.
